FLOWER CARE
Here’s a quick guide to keeping fresh-cut roses and flowers looking vibrant for as long as possible:
1. PREPARATION
- Trim Stems: Cut about 1-2 inches off the bottom of each stem at a 45-degree angle before placing them in water. This angle maximizes water uptake.
- Remove Leaves: Strip any leaves that will sit below the waterline, as these can rot and lead to bacteria growth.

2. WATER AND VASE CARE
- Clean Vase: Use a clean vase to prevent bacteria from contaminating the water and flowers.
- Fresh Water: Fill the vase with fresh, lukewarm water (not cold) and change the water every 1-2 days to keep it clear and bacteria-free.

3. FLOWER FOOD
- Use Flower Food: Add a packet of floral preservative to the water if available. This food helps nourish the flowers and slows bacterial growth.
- DIY Solution: If floral food is unavailable, add a teaspoon of sugar, a few drops of bleach, and a few drops of lemon juice to the water as an alternative.

4. PLACEMENT
- Avoid Direct Sunlight and Heat: Place the vase in a cool area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and drafts. Heat speeds up wilting.
- Keep Away from Ripening Fruits: Fruits like apples release ethylene gas, which can cause flowers to age faster.

5. DAILY MAINTENANCE
- Re-cut Stems: Every few days, trim the ends to help the flowers absorb water better.
- Monitor Condition: Remove any wilting or browning flowers promptly to keep the arrangement fresh longer.

These steps can extend the life of fresh-cut roses and flowers, keeping them beautiful for a week or more.
